it’s a very hard call. i’ got into the descendants about 6months ago and i’m loving their music and was psyched to see them on the list, however, i’m a huge MD fan. might try to catch the first song or two of descendants before heading over to MD..

Different styles? You mean I can’t like multiple genres of music? This timetable sucks balls. The overlaps are awkward and even the headliners overlap. Why not start the thing at 10am with more manageable time slots? It’s what I hate about most festival now. You can’t just chill and enjoy, you’ve gotta watch your watch. I’ll be with Descendents and then walk over to MD to stand at the back of a packed crowd… yeah, totally convenient. Same goes for NOFX, I wanted to see GWAR just for the novelty of it but I guess that’s going to be a pain in the arse walking between crowds too. Do organisers actually attend shows?

From looking at the map it appears that the 3 stages are the Hordern, Royal Hall of Industries and Forum. They are all next to each other so you won’t have far to travel to get to from stage to stage. Google maps link:

If i may, i recommend ABR. They are incredible live (they toured with PWD the other year, and were better than them
anyway oops!). If you got time, check out the songs from their Home – Live DVD on youtube. they are massively
talented and got madd skillz!

It’s all about the Red Stage for me. Have no real interest in the metal oriented side of things and all the bands I really want to see and one after the other on the one stage! This I am happy with and well worth the money I’m paying. NOFX and Descendents getting an hour each is awesome too, can you imagine how many songs are going to fit into that amount of time. That’s why Punk is so good, short songs = getting to hear heaps more tunes at gigs.
Will quickly catch Megadeath’s last 30 mins just to say I saw them though.

i think it is pretty shit how there is only one ‘free water’ stand in the whole venue. it’s not very hard to set up and it’s going to help out a lot of people on the day. i think they should have one fore each stage.

@ Mcgiddyup – they only put two bars at the punk stage cos its such a good line-up. If i had to listen to metal all day I’d need a more than a few drinks. The half hour change over times on the red stage should be enough time to keep the fluids up!
I’m pretty happy with this setup! But it’s a bit of a slap to the face for anyone who’s going just for adtr and one or two others. How is it that they get the same set length as SS and Gwar? There could be just a little bit of an uproar over a 45 minute set for a band with 5 albums…
