Outsiders

The Outsiders (Sommerset, Ritalin, Not Quite Right) have grown together as a band on the highways and cramped tour vans of Europe/UK, Australia and New Zealand. The Debut album “The Words Will Write Themselves” released May 17th in New Zealand through Issac/Universal is the highly anticipated testament to this first year and a half as a band. Recorded in studios across Wellington and mixed and mastered by powerhouse producer/engineer Andrew Buckton (Sommerset/The D4/Midnight Youth).

The album tells the story of losing everything and finding it again, recapturing youth while looking for redemption and the band has a wealth of experience to draw on. Playing sold out shows in far away places such as Amsterdam, Berlin, London and Melbourne, getting lost in the countryside in Belgium, eating banquets in squats in Germany all tied together through friendship and music. Stylistically the band plays Punk/Alternative Rock with pop hooks similar to bands such as Husker Du, The Replacements, and The Ramones. Three vocalists and an anything goes live act set The Outsiders apart from many current bands and hark back to the heyday of the early 90's when music and passion took precendent over fashion.

Only a band for a year The Outsiders have already toured Europe, The UK, Australia and New Zealand extensively all on the back of their highly acclaimed debut EP. Playing and touring with such International heavyweights such as Propagandhi, Lagwagon, Smoke or Fire and The Parlotones along the way. The release of the debut album will yet again involve extensive national touring and will see the band once again venture overseas in search of further success.

Keep an eye on The Outsiders in 2010 the musical climate is changing and The Outsiders are at the forefront with their gritty take on Alternative Punk/Rock.
