Suicide Silence
America’s premiere, genre-defying metal band, SUICIDE SILENCE, are best known for their intensely savage and unrelenting stage show, and come summer 2010 the band will strike fear into the hearts of today’s impressionable youth as they take part in this year’s highly anticipated Warped Tour. They are excited to be one of the tour’s most extreme acts and to have the opportunity to annihilate thousands of new faces each day. They will join a very diverse, impressive list of artists ranging from Andrew W.K. and Sum 41 to Every Time I Die and The Dillinger Escape Plan, among many others.
There is little doubt in anyone’s minds that SUICIDE SILENCE are the frontrunners of the scene as they became one of the most extreme bands to ever debut in the Billboard Top 200 charts at such a high number, entering at #32 with over 14,000 units sold. Their highly acclaimed new album No Time To Bleed, which was produced by the acclaimed Machine (Lamb of God), makes their debut offering seem like easy listening. Revolver Magazine hailed SUICIDE SILENCE as “The future of metal” and after spending the better half of 2009 on the road with such titans as Disturbed, Korn, Mudvayne, Megadeth and Machine Head, there is no question that they have solidified themselves as leaders of this new wave of extreme metal.
This is a statement further validated as the group won the “Best New Talent” Award at the inaugural Revolver Golden Gods Awards, held at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on April 7th, 2009. The group was also hailed as the event’s breakthrough artist by the LA Times, but make no mistake that this extreme juggernaut is not resting on their laurels and are about to take things up a notch. No Time To Bleed has scanned over an unprecedented 50K in just six month’s time, which is a huge accomplishment for a band of this nature.
Synonymous to the cult classics such as Metallica’s Kill Em All and Slayer’s Reign In Blood, the voracious No Time To Bleed provides a substantial wake up call to the masses giving today’s youth an outlet to vent their everyday frustrations. SUICIDE SILENCE can identify with their fans and know what struggles they face in today’s society. This new effort showcases a more mature band coming into their own, ultimately paving a new path throughout the metal genre unique all unto itself that can’t be replicated. This is the future of extreme music that is brutal, genuine and simply undeniable.
As the inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival came to a close in the summer of 2008, SUICIDE SILENCE emerged as one of the event’s breakthrough artists. The buzz from this tour ultimately became the launching pad for the band’s current success. The group struck a nerve with fans across the country who are hungry for sheer, unrelenting aggression that pummels the listener with an unabashed mixture of brutality, precision and technicality.
SUICIDE SILENCE are tireless road warriors as their 2007/08 worldwide touring campaign saw the band play over 200 shows across the globe with such acclaimed acts as Slipknot, Unearth, Behemoth, Nile, Parkway Drive and Underoath, among a slew of others. They kicked off 2009 the same way as direct support to the legendary Carcass that was immediately followed up with the lengthy “Music As A Weapon IV” North American tour alongside such genre titans as Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, Lacuna Coil and Chimaira, among others.
SUICIDE SILENCE’s critically acclaimed debut offering, The Cleansing, has now SoundScanned over an impressive 100,000 units and was hailed by Alternative Press as “One of the 100 bands you need to know about.” Revolver further stated “The Cleansing was well worth the wait” as Metal Edge claimed that “The Cleansing is jammed packed with aggression and each song is overflowing with the belligerence and brutality that death metal fans yearn for.”
Upon their inception in 2004, the Riverside, CA quintet have worked feverishly to carve out their own unique niche within the metal scene and in doing so have developed an undeniable buzz with legions of diehard supporters. With The Cleansing, the group delivered one of the most scathing debut albums the metal genre has yet to bear witness to in years, adhering to no preconceived notions and refusing to be pigeonholed into any specific genre. The juxtaposition of each member's talents creates an explosive, yet exciting result that is sure to keep the entire scene on their toes and wondering just what is coming next.
In 2010, SUICIDE SILENCE looks to continue paving new ground and expand into the mainstream, proving to the masses that there is none heavier on the planet. This is the new face of dominant brutality.
